Malawi: The Warm Heart of Africa
Facilitators: Staff and members of Second
Malawi, located in southeast Africa, is known as “The Warm Heart of Africa.” Visited by Presbyterian missionaries from Scotland in the late 19th century, the Presbyterian Church in this region subsequently eclipsed the size of both the Church of Scotland and the PCUSA. Pastors, staff and members from Second Presbyterian Church and Witherspoon Presbyterian Church were commissioned and sent to serve with and learn from our siblings-in-Christ located at two congregations in Blantyre, Malawi: Michiru and St. Peter’s. Second previously sent a group to help plant and build St. Peter’s, which now gathers between 500-600 worshippers each Sunday. Join us as we share about our mission in Malawi!
